Large Upstairs Carpet Installation for 170 sqm Property

Smyth Carpets recently completed this large upstairs carpet installation for a spacious property, covering 170 square metres in total.

The project included several rooms and upstairs areas, with new carpet fitted throughout to create a clean, soft and consistent finish across the property.

Alongside the carpet fitting, the team also handled the take up and disposal of the existing flooring, before installing new underlay and gripper to provide the right foundation for the new carpet.

The Brief

The customer needed a full upstairs carpet installation completed efficiently, with a professional finish across a large floor area.

As the property had no skirting boards in place, the carpet had to be fitted neatly around a small metal trim instead. This required careful cutting and close attention to detail to make sure the edges looked clean throughout.

The size of the project also meant the team needed to work quickly and methodically, keeping the installation organised while maintaining the quality of the finish.

Our Approach

We began by removing and disposing of the existing flooring, then prepared the upstairs areas ready for the new carpet.

New underlay and gripper were installed to help improve comfort, support and long-term performance. Where there were no skirtings, the team fitted the carpet carefully around the metal trims, ensuring each edge was cut cleanly and finished neatly.

Across the full 170 square metres, the team worked efficiently to complete the installation within five hours, while still maintaining a high standard of fitting in each room and connecting space.

The Result

The finished carpet gives the property a softer, warmer and more complete feel throughout the upstairs areas.
